Perpetual is a is a work born out of the sculptural series Structure of Collapse, it encompasses and magnifies the concepts the artist explores and acts a bridge between two bodies of work; Perpetual is the connective tissue between Structure of Collapse and City of Nithstang.

Perpetual captures the planes of our constructed environment, it “presents ossified newspaper headlines collected over recent years” documenting a seemingly endless onslaught of crises of our age; migration, endemics, starvation, flooding, mass abduction, marauding terrorists “imbuing it with traces of the media generated zeitgeist”. Words emerge and dissolve out of reach and comprehension into an impenetrable veneer ingrained with the paranoia of modern existential catastrophe. Through the use of photography, the work captures a visceral and hysterical response of an unidentified figure contorted in anguish. Perpetual is an evocation of emotion it is not an explanation but a capturing of how the world is presented to us and internalized.
